Photo Friday: Sydney Zoo

Even though our visit to Sydney was without kids, we did not want to miss the world famous Taronga Zoo. Despite the rainy weather, we had a blast here. It’s compact enough to cover the main attractions without much effort and many of the exhibits enable you to get close to the animals. The highlights, of course, are the native Australian animals. The kangaroos are particularly entertaining given that you experience them without a fence. These animals are hysterical—I laugh every time I look at this picture of a kangaroo literally “lounging” around.

The other stars of this zoo are the koala bears. Is there another more snuggly creature on earth? We paid for an encounter which enabled us to get really close to them. Very fun …

When you get tired of looking at the animals, there are some amazing harbor views from a few of the exhibits. I’m sure the giraffes appreciate their view of the opera house.
Needless to say, this is a very fun excursion with kids of all ages. For more Photo Friday posts, visit Delicious Baby.
