Ashford Castle is one of those magical places in Europe where you feel like you’ve literally stepped into the past.  The massive, perfectly preserved exterior of this 13th century Irish castle is awe-inspiring to say the least.  We stayed there pre-kids in 2001 and I have to say this is one of the most memorable hotel stays we’ve had in Europe.
