I’m always happy to write about San Diego because it’s simply the perfect family vacation spot. I just wrote an article for Shermans Travel with an updated list of the top kid-friendly activities in and around the San Diego area, including a few of my favorite kid-friendly restaurants (I grew up in Del Mar).

Legoland

The beauty of San Diego is the ability to balance swimming time with structured activities that are both fun and educational.  Animals are the stars with the San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and the Birch Aquarium.  These venues are also easy to get to and reasonably sized, so you don’t come away with your eyes glazed over.  With terrific weather, families can enjoy outdoor activities all year long.

Let’s not forget the excellent selection of family hotels in San Diego.
