Swimming Safety at Hotel Kids’ Clubs
May 5th, 2010
Amie from Ciao Bambino
I wrote about hotel kids’ clubs a few weeks ago—thoughtfully run programs are a fantastic amenity for families. We just published a list of all our properties with kids’ clubs on the Ciao Bambino homepage (use Quick Search located at the top of the page to narrow down options by age requirements and pricing).
That said, any parent that is considering using a kids’ club needs to understand if a program includes swimming and exactly what that means. The fact that hotel is luxurious and expensive and/or many other families are participating does not mean swimming in their kids’ club is a good idea.
I hosted a discussion on our Facebook page with other family travel writers to get their perspective on the issue. The findings were telling but the bottom line is that many hotels and parents are not on the same page in terms of expectations around what needs to be in place for safe swimming.
Read about things to consider and questions to ask on the follow up article about swimming sessions at kids’ clubs I wrote for Peter Greenberg Worldwide last week.
