If you’ve been dreaming about 2011 vacation in Italy, we have some exciting news. Ciao Bambino has recommended Al Gelso Bianco to families for years and this glorious property is the prize for our fall giveaway!
This wine and olive producing estate in the heart of Chianti is a personal favorite of mine. Set in a superb, much-sought after location for regional sightseeing with easy access to Florence, Siena, and San Gimignano to name a few, Al Gelso Bianco is an ideal venue for families.
First, let’s talk about the owner. Irene Sanesi was raised in Florence and is an absolute gem; she is exactly the kind of small property owner everyone hopes for when traveling in Europe—one who is full of useful and reliable local advice and goes out of her way to share it! Irene and her staff are full of invaluable information from babysitter recommendations to the best local trattoria for dinner to wine tasting—anything and everything is covered.
Pair these services with a spectacular, pristine rural setting and well-appointed, cozy apartments and you have a winner. With just a handful of rooms, Al Gelso Bianco feels intimate and highly personalized—a better option than renting your own villa if you are traveling as an independent family.

One lucky reader will win. To enter the giveaway, leave a comment before 11:59p PST by Wednesday, October 20, 2010 and tell us the name of your favorite family hotel (if you don’t have kids, just name your favorite hotel and note this is the case). A few tidbits on why you like the hotel would be great, but are not required to enter the contest.
Our comment form will ask you for your email – be sure to include it. Your email will not shared with anyone outside of Ciao Bambino, and we will not send you email unless you win.
On Friday, October 22nd we will have a random drawing for everyone that leaves a valid comment and will announce the winner on the Ciao Bambino Blog.

There are a couple of ways you can get additional entries in this contest. Each one takes only a few minutes to complete. You can get up to 4 entries!
- If you have a blog, link back to our 2010 fall giveaway page. Email kristi@CiaoBambino.com telling us you did so and show us the link where we can find it!
- On the Ciao Bambino Facebook page, under the Photos tab, we have posted a Fall Giveaway photo. Leave a comment and tell us where this photo was taken. If you guess correctly, we will give you an additional entry in the contest. Only one comment and guess per person.
- UPDATE: One more way to win added on October 11th. Tell your friends about the contest on Facebook with a link back to our 2010 fall giveaway page. Email kristi@CiaoBambino.com and let us know the post is live. One post per person.
Prize Details
The contest winner will receive a week-long stay in a 2-bedroom apartment at Al Gelso Bianco for up to 2 adults and 2-3 children. Accommodations must be booked by December 4, 2010 for a stay in April or October, 2011. A 200€ security deposit is required at the time of booking.
Rules
Only one comment per person per giveaway (except as outlined above where the comment is related to an extra entry). Duplicate comments, anonymous comments and comments with vulgarity, profanity, personal attacks and comments not directly related to the topic will be discarded.
Please make sure that the email address in your comment form is valid (email addresses are never public). Winners must claim their prize within three business days after the date of notification of such prize. A Sweepstakes winner’s failure to respond to the prize notification within the specified three business days will be considered such Sweepstakes winner’s forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner may be selected from the pool of eligible entries. If an entrant is found to be ineligible, an alternate winner may also be selected from the pool of eligible entries. To enter, you must be age 18 or older.
Employees, partners and vendors of Ciao Bambino and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. We will disqualify any entries that we believe are generated by scripts and other automated technology. When applicable, the winner may be required to execute and return within five business days an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability and Publicity Release to be eligible for the prize or an alternate winner will be selected. All prizes will be awarded. No substitutions including for cash are permitted, except that Ciao Bambino reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater monetary value for any prize. Winners shall be responsible and liable for all federal, state and local taxes on the value of their prize.
