Baby and Toddler Travel Shopping List

Have baby will travel.

Why does this statement sound controversial? Most of the new parents I meet put their more adventurous travel plans on hold as soon as they start a family. I don’t get it.

Okay, I wouldn’t take my kids in to a Malaria zone or somewhere that required them to have extra immunizations, but I want my little people to see the world and learn from it as early as possible.

Thumbs Up for Kidzsack Travel Bag

Kidzsack sent us one of their backsacks to review. Yes, it’s a “backsack” not a backpack. It has a double drawstring closure instead of a zipper, but fits on your back like a backpack. The Kidzsack comes with a set of washable markers with the idea that you can wash and recolor it.

I handed the Kidzsack over to the best reviewers for the job – my 5 and 7-year-old kids. We had the sea life design which appealed to both of them and they were able to do some of the coloring together without fighting.

The Perfectly Packed Child’s Carry-On

Whether it lasts four hours or 14, a plane flight can feel like an eternity if you’re not prepared. Your child’s carry-on is a big key to your success (see my recent post on travel packing tips on clothes and checked baggage).

Less is more

Make sure your child’s bag is light when it’s empty. You’re going to put enough in as it is, don’t add un-necessary weight. Look for a carry-on that rolls, but can also double as a backpack.
