One of the big reasons we love to travel internationally is the opportunity to experience how people around the world live differently than we do.

Many families don’t have the resources to travel abroad with kids yet still want to expose kids to different people, places, and cultures in an impactful way. Textbooks are a start but multimedia is a far richer way to share information.

Eileen Ogintz is a longtime family travel expert and syndicated columnist of the weekly column Taking the Kids featured on CNN.com, MSNBC.com, as well as a lengthy list of leading national newspapers. Eileen has been writing about family travel for over 20 years and has managed to transition her column to a Web 2.0 world.

The number of family travel blogs and websites has exploded over the past few years. How has traveling with kids changed?

One of the things I cherish about running a mom-owned travel website is the abundant opportunity to meet women who love travel as much as I do and really get why I spend so much time developing Ciao Bambino (my second child). Erica Dublin is the CEO of See Jane Fly, a go-to travel resource for women.

Since women DO have travel experiences that are not all about kids, Erica’s editorial team cover topics like wedding and business travel too. Their goal? To be a hip and trusted concierge for Janes everywhere.

Every so often I meet someone that really impacts me. Erica Ehm, the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Yummy Mummy Club, is one of those people. I had the good fortune of interviewing her a few weeks ago. Mid-chat, Erica and I had that moment of connection—we’re both moms, entrepreneurs, and have dedicated our careers to helping other moms.

In addition to all of that, Erica’s work is around something that every mother deals with on a daily basis … staying sane. Her messages resonate in a big, life-changing way.

One of our clients traveled through Italy two years ago for 3 weeks—at the time their kids were 6 and 8. They loved their experience so much that they are doing it all over again this year—this time for 7 weeks!

We’ve had many inquiries for Ciao Bambino recommended properties in Asia over the past year. In order to launch Asia coverage, I needed to find a good local resource. I’m thrilled to report that I’ve found one!
