Las Vegas is not a destination that appears frequently on the family travel short list. For years, many parents wouldn’t dare to even consider sharing a Los Vegas family getaway with children. Slowly but surely, however, this notion is changing. We just spent a weekend there with our 10-year-old and discovered families everywhere in and around the infamous strip.

With perks including warm weather much of the year, insanely easy airport access (10 minutes from town), a plethora of wallet-friendly flights, upscale, stylish hotels with competitive pricing, incredible celebrity chef dining opportunities …

So you’ve decided to take the leap and take the family to Vegas. Maybe it’s to see a show, there’s hundreds to choose from. Maybe it’s for a wedding. They happen around the clock there … just ask Elvis. Maybe it’s just because you want to go to Vegas. Whatever the reason, Las Vegas with kids can be a lot of fun.

The Strip is like a giant amusement park. You could spend days just wandering and staring.

Las Vegas. It’s reputation is known around the world. Just the mention it’s name and your mind no doubt starts to conjure up wild images involving gambling and alcohol. If you’re searching for your next family getaway, it’s a good bet Vegas isn’t on the list. It wasn’t on mine. (Note the past tense reference.)
