The Affinia 50 offers an apartment-style atmosphere and amenities with hotel services. Primarily an all-suite hotel, most rooms include full kitchens and living areas. Guest rooms are shockingly spacious for New York City and easily accommodate families of 4-6 people. Updated rooms are set up for comfort and function more than style, but this is one of the features that makes it work well for a stay with kids. There is an appealing Club Room that is perfect for breaks with snacks and a TV. The Midtown location is fantastic, just blocks from Rockefeller Center and the excitement of 5th Avenue. |

Located in the heart of Manhattan's Upper West Side, the Hotel Beacon is a landmark hotel that is a haven for smart tourists seeking a more residential experience in the Big Apple. The Beacon is a perfect base for a family visiting New York. It's situated in an upscale neighborhood with easy access to the city's fabled food markets, boutiques, top restaurants and the 1,2,3 and 9 and B, C subways. Central Park is 3 blocks away, gracious Riverside Park is 2 blocks, and the hotel is adjacent to the famed Beacon Theater. The lobby is bright and open, the decor is un-fussy but up-to-date (the hotel was recently renovated). Guest rooms are spacious, which is rare in New York, and feature kitchenettes which make it convenient for moms wanting to keep their children fed and hydrated during a whirlwind trip to the city. |

The location of this Le Parker Meridien is excellent with easy access to Central Park, Times Square, and great shopping. Highlights for my kids at this hotel are the 20’ Wii set-up in the racquetball court (fee-based) and the swimming pool on the 44th floor with an outside observatory deck. We hung-out and ordered food at the pool—a perfect break from sightseeing. There are plenty of room options that work well for families. |

We stay in New York often and love the location of the Shoreham. Rooms are clean and spacious for the city. Junior Suites are the perfect configuration for families with separate rooms. The hotel is very hip and our kids love the amenities including free hot chocolate throughout the day. |

The Pod has roof-top patio with fabulous views of the city. It is located in a charming part of New York City where you feel like a local because it is set in a neighborhood. Close to Subway access. Hip lobby. The coolest, trendiest rooms in NYC - they are small but functional and many have bunk-beds with personal flat-screen TVs. Convenient and reasonably priced - this hotel has thought of everything and is a great option for families with tweens and teens. |
