The panoramic views of Florence from the Arno-facing rooms at the Westin Excelsior are glorious and one of the reasons why this hotel is a Ciao Bambino favorite for a luxury city stay. The ambiance is grand and old-world—a fun way for families to experience another age. The trade off is that the rooms are not state-of-the-art with all the latest gadgets; although, they are spacious for Europe and well-furnished with the usual Westin “Heavenly” amenities. Connecting rooms are available. Located on the Piazza Ognissanti, the hotel is not in the very center of town—the main tourist attractions are a 15-minute walk—not a problem given that a big part of enjoying Florence is strolling.
